This exciting new project is funded by the Green Recovery Challenge Fund and is in partnership with the Love Your River Cole (LYRiC) Project. The Castle Bromwich Hall and Gardens Trust is working with the Tame Valley Wetlands Team and is supported by a range of partners:
The B37 project, Birmingham City Council, North Warwickshire Borough Council, The Prince’s Trust, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust. We will be working to deliver the project whilst involving and engaging local people.
The Parkland is part of the old Bradford Estate; a highly protected and significant range of buildings and landscapes on the edge of Birmingham.
The overall estate is in a Conservation area which includes a range of Grade I, II and II* buildings, the Parkland is a local nature reserve as well as a Grade II* listed Park and Garden.
Castle Bromwich Hall and Gardens Trust is a small charitable trust which owns and manages the 400 year old formal gardens adjacent to the Parkland. Other parts of the original estate are in a variety of different and separate ownerships. This project will be the first time for over a decade that the owners and managers of the Parkland site will work together to support the important natural and historic aspects of this 12 hectare Parkland.
The Project will involve Grassland and Wetland habitat enhancements, access improvements and new interpretation signs to help its visitors to better understand and enjoy this historic Parkland.
