Central England Concert Band

Who says you need a bandstand to have a band? We have the lawn, the chairs and a great band

The Central England Concert Band makes a welcome return to the Gardens for an afternoon of songs from stage and screen. Everything from Les Miserables through the Pirates of the Caribbean to where ‘no man has gone before’ Star Trek …. and who knows after that.

CECB is the the community ensemble with a pedigree reaching back to 1980. Currently led by musical director Rob Spalton. Rob is, among other things,  ‘Head of Brass’ at Repton School  in Derbyshire. Expect some good strong brass band sounds this afternoon .

‘A jet engine is no match for a band full of brass’ … she says, cocking a snook at the skies .

Our gates are open at 12.30 as usual, the set starts about 2pm with a break and will finish about 4pm.

Buy an advanced ticket here, or on the door. Seats are unreserved. You are welcome – nay encouraged – to bring a picnic and your own seating etc.

We are excited that Sunday 20th is also planned to be the inauguration of the new bells in our

neighbouring church , St Mary and St Margaret’s. If all goes well, we will be hearing the team ring from

12 – 1pm . For more , see here http://www.stmaryandstmargaret.co.uk/

Great tunes that we’re all familiar with, some lovely singers and much very excellent playing.

Bring a picnic and chill out on the lawns. … bring a sunshade that doubles as an umbrella, you never know… We just carry on

Gardens open from 12.30.

Performance from 2 ish.. approx

Tickets (£8) available online, here, in advance or on the door on the day.

1940s Hop at the Hall

Hurry Hurry, these are the very last tickets for the Hop ….Make sure you have yours

Im afraid there is no waiting list. One or two may become available during the day at the 40s event, but due to space restrictions, we cannot sell any on the door.

After a day in the field, we have a night of nostalgia, with musicians from the Ashby Big Band and our very own crooner king, Kevin Mack.

The Hop takes place in the MaltHouse at Castle Bromwich Hall Hotel, from seven(ish) to eleven(ish). On site Bar and a Fab Forties bar menu.

Come with your glad rags on!

The venue is relatively small, please limit your ticket purchases to 5 to allow everyone to have a chance to come. A small number of tickets will be on sale on the day.
