The Board with the updated articles
Trustee Board
- A board of 3 -15 individuals
- Rotation: usually 3 years with a max of 3 terms of 3 years
To support the transition and strengthen the operation and range of the board, 2 of the current caretaker trustees commit to a further year (or more) so that not all trustees will be retiring at the same time in 3 years’ time.
Appointment of Trustees/Directors
The governing Articles now reflect the standard practice for charities and the Trust will also work to the good practice processes of the charity sector and especially those recommended in the heritage sector (ie by the Association Independent Museums).
The open recruitment process begins with public call outs from time to time, setting out the particular skills and experiences that the Board needs to improve Governance.
- Suitable individuals may also be invited to apply.
- Potential Trustees will be asked to apply with a cv/covering letter,
- subsequently invited to meet with the Chair and one or more trustees and,
- if suitable will be proposed to the full Board and accepted by resolution.
- Any person accepted to the Board can then be confirmed in the position at the following AGM.
- All Trustee/Directors must be(come) Members of the Trust.
