Summer activities for families in the gardens have begun. On Tuesdays , Wednesdays and Thursdays we have ‘guided’ activities, but we are open 7 days a week, so there are ‘self- guided’ activities for every day. You’re never too old to join in!
Here are some of the things you can do:
Doodle stations : pick up a pencil and doodle. Inspired by the view or a flower? Sit on the bench, use the materials from the box and sketch. The Greenhouse will become a temporary gallery. for summer.
Mud Kitchen A brand new area of recycled objects, designed to let the imagination flow..already on the menu have been leaf tea, cone towers and mudmixers.
Story Maze: the centre of the maze has always been a beautiful place for quiet contemplation. We will leave a box of books there. Feel free to sit down and read . On Family Activity days we’ll have StoryTelling Time at 2pm.
Junior Gardening : Every Wednesday 12-3pm. Help the real gardeners look after the garden, enjoy planting, watering, weeding. Suitable for 4years upwards. No need to book.
Knit-knot tent: a summer long project to create a hanging tent for the walnut tree outside the walls. This is an opportunity for us to share and re-learn craft techniques of knitting, finger knitting and just being together.
