The woodland is a little darker here but sunshine still pops though in places, watch for the Speckled Wood butterfly fluttering between the leaves and listen for the Greater Spotted Woodpecker tapping on the trees.
Beetles scurry across the floor in between the fallen leaves on important missions, while at night bats hunt amongst the treetops for moths and flies. There is always something happening in the woods if you take a moment to look.
You have now come to the end of the trail, why not come back and explore it at different times of the day and at different seasons. If you are looking for the start follow the main path onto the grassland where you will find the first post.
