You have now reached the swampy area where woodland meets wetland. We have created a pond here and planted up the edges with wetland plants and woodland wildflowers. Several branches have been cut back to allow more light to reach the pond, with the wood creating safe homes and habitats for wildlife.
In time the flowers will become stablished, flowering and attracting insects and birds. Dragonflies and damselflies will dart across the water with impressive flight skills. Listen for the sounds of frogs and toads as they move into the pond.
Be careful to stick to the path as the wetland can have deep muddy sections. Carry on ahead to the final post.
