Stars and Shadows…Christmas Lantern Festival in the Gardens

Yet again we have a magical ‘make and explore’ lead up  to Christmas for all the family in the Gardens.

As night falls, wander into the Gardens with your own willow lantern; find the Big Star constellations hidden in the trees, run from Jupiter to Mars and make your own planetary shadow play..There’s hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows around the firepit too.

Drop in any time on our Event Days to make your own ‘star lantern’ during the afternoon and, when the lights in the Gardens come on (around 3.30pm), take your lantern to explore the gently twinkling stars and planets scattered around the garden. Making a lantern is not compulsory – but its more fun!

The public art installation of stars and planets will be made during November by community groups and visitors alike. See HERE to find out how you can get involved.
