All our school and education group visits can be tailored and adopted to your needs, age groups and topic areas. Sessions can be half day or full day. For more information please get in touch.

Our offer for 2024 includes the following workshops

Growing and Gardening

Join us to discover all about life in the garden, you will learn about what plants need to grow and thrive, where some of our food comes from and how it’s grown. Plus you will get to plant your own vegetables to take home with you.

Stone Age Experience

Step all the way back in time with our Stone Age experience day. Learn all about nomadic shelters & make your own. Experience the importance of fire and see a fire lighting demonstration. Hunt and Gather, learn about gathering wild food and maybe try a few plants in our woodland. Finish the day of seeing just how tricky hunting could be for our ancestors with a spear throwing competition.

Minibeasts and Pondlife

We have three ponds onsite all teeming with fascinating life. Investigate minibeasts in their different habitats. Learn about their secret lives, what they do, where they live and how to identify them. Then we head over to the pond to look at life under the water, we will pond dip and see what we can find and learn all about food chains.

Forest School

Forest School is a child centred process, which encourages nature exploration and controlled risks. This workshop is perfect for smaller groups and includes a mixture of activities ranging from fire lighting, tool use, nature crafts, woodland games, den building and outdoor cooking. Led by our qualified Forest School Leader.

Secret Live of Trees

Trees are all around us but how well do we really know them? In this session we learn all about trees and their functions, how to identify some of the trees around us and some strange ideas from the past. The Gardens looks after more than a hundred mature trees and is still planting new ones.
