The Gardens Trust provides, and are dependent on, over 11,000 hours of volunteer time every year.
Our beautiful 400 year old historic Gardens and Parkland has been saved and protected from destruction and we love to share it with all our users and visitors.
The 40 acres of formal and wildlife space needs constant care and attention and, with more and more visitors; individuals, families and groups, our welcoming café and all our events and activities depend on the support of cheery volunteers.
Our small charity could not do that without the support of the many volunteers who give so generously of their time and talent.
What, how, when?
Front of House Volunteers
We always welcome new additions to our wonderful Front of House Team. This involves helping in the café, shop and visitor welcome areas all in one shift. It’s great fun and a fabulous way to meet people and be part of a friendly community.
If you can commit to volunteering at least twice a month, then please use the form below to express your interest. Or else pop in and see us!
Training and induction is always given, but please note some roles require some pre-existing skills or experience.

Gardening and Parkland Volunteers
We always need support in the Gardens and in the Parkland. Each role requires different levels of skill and physical fitness.
If you want to use your existing design, marketing, admin or finance skills ‘for good’ please do come and have a chat.
