Colonel Pickerings: Regiment of Foote

Step back 350 years to the English Civil War and experience life on the road for soldiers and their families.
Over the Easter weekend (Saturday and Sunday) , John Pickering and his Regiment of Foote take up residence in the Gardens. Wander among the Parliamentary troops and their followers as they prepare for battle at Curdworth Bridge, near Water Orton. Get into conversation with those who cooked the meals and sewed the cloth…
Let your imagination float back 300 year
s through the sound and smell of muskets and campfire smoke… Drills, musket practise and musters happen throughout the day. Family Friendly (with some loud noises)
This is a much-needed fundraising event for the Gardens so your support and generosity at the entrance gate will be much appreciated.
No need to Book… Normal Entry Fees apply
All tickets and donations go to support the long term work for the Trust, preserving and sharing the 18th century Gardens and Parkland
