Easter Holiday Activities

Whatever the weather we have a bumper programme of activities to keep the kids happy, creative and busy. The Gardens have turned into to Alice’s Wonderland this Easter! Follow us down the rabbit hole and drop-in any day from 11am – 4pm to try the Alice themed Egg Hunt (additional £1).

Meet the Easter Bunny and show off your Easter Bonnet at the Parade on Thursday 9th April at 2pm. Or pop by for Unplug and Play crafts, activities and trails on Tuesdays and Thursdays (FREE entry for under 5’s and Family Activities Members) See social media for more details of what activities are on during the holidays (weather dependent).

On Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (12th & 13th April) let your imagination float back 300 years through the sound and smell of muskets and camp fire smoke and wander around the Civil War encampment taking in the smells and sounds of the Parliamentary troops and their followers. Colonel John Pickering and his fearsome Regiment of Foote take up residence. Learn how they cooked, looked after their weapons and wove their clothes. Lots of displays and demonstrations and drills to take part in – normal admission applies.

Thursday 17th April a special visit from Nature Makers with the option to join in with eco-friendly, nature inspired art and crafts with vegan snacks and story-telling. Please pre-book on the event page https://tinyurl.com/yx6yqkv9

Finally, Alice comes to the Gardens, Sunday 19th April in the highly original re-telling of the Lewis Carroll classic. Hold tight for rolling heads, rocketing sneezes, skimming plates and darting jam tarts.

Family Friendly Activities entrance is £3 per person over 5 years old. Free to holders of Family Activities Annual Pass. Usual admission applies otherwise.
