Morris into May
May 4th

A day of wild and wonderful activities to chase away the last of winter.
The orchards will be full of blossoms ready for your picnics, the stars of our fabulous Wassail – Beorma Morris and The Green Man – will dance and tell stories to lead our May Celebrations.
- Free falconry display,
- May Crown crafts,
- music around the Gardens, …
- Why not dress in white!
- Bring things to make noise to drive away the winter
- and even a chance to be crowned the May Monarch.
All activities, drop-in crafts and entertainments are free with normal entry fees
Approximate timings
10.30 am Gardens open as usual – enjoy some moments of quiet this May morning
12- 2pm willow and flower crown making … drop in (donations for crowns)… more craft opportunities durng the day
12.30pm- 1pm Falconry display on the lawn with Mercer Falconry..
1.30pm- 5ish
- Stories from the Green Man of the Woods,
- Drop in crafts, make your own May crown and more
- Morris – like you’ve never seen it before – from Beorma
- Fine English Folk tunes in the Music Room and Orchard.
- Crowning of the May Monarch(s) – come dressed in white!! – there may be prizes 🙂
You are encouraged to join in the dancing, if you can, and towards the end of the afternoon we’ll dance and chase away Winter.
Plenty of time to relax, snap the gorgeous Gardens, take your picnic under the apple blossom trees…
